Day 3: Concise Mental Picture
Day 3: Concise Mental Picture
"The first step from poverty to riches is the most difficult. It may simplify my statement if I tell you that all riches, and all material things that anyone acquires through self-effort, begin in the form of a clear, concise mental picture of the thing one seeks. When that picture grows, or has been forced to the proportions of an obsession, it is taken over by the subconscious mind, through some hidden law of nature which the wisest of men do not understand."
– Andrew Carnegie
My 2 Cents...
I started this process by daydreaming about how I wanted my life to play out. I would often ask myself, “How do I want to live? What do I want to do? What would make me happy?”
That daydream eventually evolved into daily visualization, with specific and intentional details, even some emotion. My vision became less broad and more precise, and I started to think about how I would feel when those dreams came true. I turned those mental images into an actionable, consistent plan to bring them to life in 3D.
It’s a process—the exact process Carnegie is talking about. When everything is clicking, the helping hands that tend to show up never surprise me.
