6TH PLACE // Bryan Johnston

Lost 30.2 lbs.

When consistency beats chaos.

Enter Bryan:

I was on the fence about doing the contest this year. I had been focused on strength, chasing a lifetime squat PR and pushing food, but by January it was clear my “clean” bulk had gone too far.

Seeing the energy from the Max Effort Mafia and CoryG Fitness community lit a fire under me, and I knew I had to jump in.

Over the past 10 weeks, this challenge reminded me that real transformation isn’t just about how you look—it’s about the discipline, resilience, and consistency it takes to show up every single day.

By staying locked in with AF101, training, and daily conditioning, I was able to completely reshape my physique. I lost 30.2 lbs, trained six days a week, built an 88-day lunge streak, incorporated rucking, and stayed consistent with my nutrition from start to finish.

I also utilized Max Effort Amino Recovery, Stim-Free Fat Burner, and Plant Protein to support recovery, fat loss, and help me hit my protein goals. I used planned protocol cheat meals strategically to manage both mental and physical fatigue without losing momentum.

One of the things I’m most proud of is staying consistent when life became unpredictable.

During the challenge, we dealt with ice dam and water damage in our home, which brought a lot of stress and required immediate attention. I had to adapt my training, shifting from Get Stacked to Pump :30, but I stayed committed to the goals I set for myself despite the curveball.

The following week, I traveled for work and spent long days in meetings surrounded by food that wasn’t on plan. Instead of letting that derail me, I stuck to my habits. I trained early in hotel gyms, used protein shakes for lunch, brought my own meals, and adjusted my timing when needed. It took extra effort and planning, but staying consistent mattered more than convenience.

Between the challenges at home, travel, increased pressure at work, and balancing life as a dad of four while serving at my church, it would have been easy to make excuses.

Instead, I leaned in, stayed disciplined, and remained focused for the entire contest.

This transformation is about more than just physical change. It reflects what can happen when you commit to the process, especially when things aren’t ideal.

Over these 10 weeks, I learned that the small choices you make every day truly add up. This transformation was built through discipline and consistency, proving that real change happens when you fully commit and follow through, no matter what life throws at you.
