The Story of Gregory // 2026 #IWANTABZ

Greg came into his third #IWANTABZ Contest with a chip on his shoulder after finishing Top 25 last year. He responded by losing 25.8 pounds, doing 45 minutes of cardio every day and lifting five mornings a week at 5am. But his own transformation is only part of the story...

Enter Greg:

"I believe I should win this competition because I didn’t just set a higher standard this year—I delivered on it in every aspect of my life.

Coming into my third year, I wasn’t satisfied with just improving. Last year, I finished in the top 25, and while I was proud of that, a part of me felt like I got slighted—and it lit a fire in me. I didn’t just want to place again; I wanted to prove to myself that I could take it even further.

Over the last 70 days, I followed through. I lost 25.8 pounds, going from 196.4 to 170.6, while committing to 45 minutes of cardio every single day and lifting five days a week at 5am—with extra work added at night.

There were no shortcuts, no missed days—just consistency, discipline, and showing up no matter how long the days got or how short the nights felt.

But what truly sets this year apart is what happened beyond my own transformation.

I brought five friends into this competition, and together we lost well over 100 pounds. What I didn’t expect was how challenging it would be to lead. I had to learn quickly that not everyone is motivated the same way I am. I couldn’t push everyone the same—I had to adapt, find what drove each person, and keep them going even when their motivation faded.

That was one of the hardest and most valuable lessons I’ve learned: leadership isn’t about how you push yourself; it’s about how you bring others with you.

At the same time, this journey demanded real sacrifice at home. My wife is 36 weeks pregnant, and we have a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old. Showing up every day meant pulling time and energy away from them—and my wife had to carry more of that weight so I could stay locked in.

That wasn’t easy.

There were plenty of moments where I questioned how to balance it all, especially while also taking on increased responsibilities at work and pushing toward a promotion.

Days were long. Nights were short. But I stayed committed.

This challenge became more than just a physical transformation—it became a test of discipline, sacrifice, leadership, and resilience.

I didn’t just improve my body. I proved that I could raise my standard in every area of my life while helping others do the same.

I didn’t just complete this challenge—I elevated it.

For myself, for my family, and for the group I led.

And that’s why I believe I deserve to win."
