The Story of John Covington // 2026 #IWANTABZ

A full-time job. Four kids. Football, soccer and baseball practices. Games, tournaments and plenty of late nights. There wasn't exactly a bunch of extra time sitting around for him to train, but he found it anyway. Throughout all 10 weeks of #IWANTABZ, he kept putting his family first while making the most of the time he had for himself.

Enter John:

"I made amazing results while still putting my family first throughout this competition.

Being a full-time working dad of four, you can imagine that my household is always busy. During these 10 weeks, I’ve coached 3 different football teams, been involved with 2 soccer teams, and now I’m coaching 2 baseball teams while being a helpful dad for another baseball team. So, 3 baseball teams total.

So, with all the practices, games, weekend tournaments, late nights, and lessons I take my kids to, I still made time for myself. Even when practices and games ran late and I’d lose some sleep, I was always up with the 5am crew at the gym, getting after it before work.

As well as hitting the track on the weekends, hitting a killer mile (1 lap burpees, 1 lap bear crawl, 1 lap lunges, jog a lap).

It may not seem like I had a lot of time for myself, but I made the most of it.

I am also a huge lover of food and sweets. Just because I’m on a diet doesn’t mean my kids can’t enjoy some ice cream. I took them out for pizza, ice cream, frozen yogurt, etc., and I would just sit there trying to be disciplined. Mentally, I wanted some ice cream so bad, but stayed strong.

Dealt with a lot of battles mentally and physically.

But even dealing with all these obstacles, I finished for myself."
