Black Sheep Fire Conference: Building Better Firefighters, One Day at a Time
Building Better Firefighters Together
The 3rd Annual Black Sheep Fire Conference
By Chief Jeremy Weekly
The Black Sheep Fire Conference started as an idea from two guys chilling in a bar in Pensacola, Florida, while attending a fire conference. We wanted to bring the same type of training to our area. It took a third guy—my brother—stepping in to push us to actually do it.
Our mission and goal is to bring hands-on training along with lectures, based around our values of serving the people in the community, to be the very best firefighters we can and to strive to get better one day at a time.

This year was our third year, and we were able to go a little bit bigger by hosting two different hot sites at two different locations—one at the Ohio Fire Academy in Reynoldsburg and the other at the West Licking Training Facility. We had over 220 tickets sold for the four-day conference, which included hands-on mid-rise mayhem training, search and rescue training, forcible entry training, and stretching hand lines.
We also held an additional two days of lectures at The Skylight in downtown Newark with four nationally known speakers in the fire service.
Our mission and goal remain the same: to bring realistic and affordable training to this area and to provide an outlet for like-minded people who value and love the job as much as we do, giving them the opportunity to come here and train to be better.

Hydrated. Recovered. Built to Perform.
This year, our team at Max Effort Muscle had the privilege of being on site at both training locations of the Blacksheep Fire Conference. We know how demanding long days of hands-on training can be, so our goal was simple: keep every firefighter fueled and hydrated to perform at their best.
We brought along two of our go-to products:
NDR Hydrate – to replenish electrolytes and keep energy levels steady through every evolution.
Amino Recovery – to support muscle repair and help firefighters bounce back faster for the next session.
