The Work Before the Win

The Work Before the Win

I’ve been lifting since the early 90s.

You know what separates the people who “made it” from the ones who didn’t?

Reps.

Not talent. Not genetics. Not luck.

Reps.

When I was younger, I tried everything. Bodybuilding splits. Powerlifting. Conditioning blocks. Circuits. Different gyms. Different coaches. Different training partners.

Why? Because experience matters.

You don’t know what works for you until you test it. And you don’t gain perspective until you’ve done enough reps to compare.

Same thing in business.

You think I was comfortable on camera the first time I hit record?

Not even close, but I kept showing up.

Because every time you press record, you get better. Every time you coach a client, you learn something. Every time you write, lead, train, speak... you sharpen the blade.

Reps create clarity.

They help you articulate your message better, they help you understand your craft deeper, and they build instinct.

If you don’t put in the reps, you don’t get to skip ahead.

You can’t hack mastery.

It’s years and years of showing up when you don’t feel like it. It’s doing the boring work. It’s repeating the basics.

And one day, you look up and realize you’re confident. Not because you’re special, but because you’ve done it thousands of times.

So if you feel behind? Good.

Start stacking reps.
