Muscle Minute #143: The Real Education That Shaped My Life and Career
"I was an angry kid who wanted to change. I was a terrible student who wanted to learn, just not what they were teaching me."
I wasn’t a fan of traditional learning. I didn’t thrive in the classroom, but I had this burning desire to change. The more I tried to learn the things that excited me—business, money, life skills—the more I realized school wasn’t teaching me what I needed.
But I found guidance in other places. My grandfather showed me the power of consistency, discipline, and keeping your word. My mom taught me a relentless work ethic, pushing forward no matter how tough things got because survival doesn’t care about how you feel. My stepdad showed me what it meant to work hard, even in the most grueling environments.
I took these lessons, mixed them with my desire to learn, and applied them to the life I wanted to create. That’s what made me dangerous, and that’s what still drives me every day.
What lessons from life have shaped you?
Success doesn’t always come from textbooks—it comes from the grit, determination, and the people who lead you to it. Keep learning from those who can teach you what you really need to know.
