#192 You Get What You Are, Not What You Want

Think About This

We’re at the beginning of 2022.  We have the #IWANTABS Contest to kick off the New Year at Max Effort Muscle and CoryG Fitness.  Everyone’s going to be pushing to get better.  Losing weight & getting in shape, cultivating new healthy habits, and changing their mindset to get more out of life.

That’s what the #IWANTABS Contest does, right? 

As the “leader” of this contest, I must lead from the front.  I must lead by example.  I have to be there in the trenches with everyone else.  Everything must be authentic, real, and aligned.  I’m going to show you what is possible by taking consistent action over time.  Not doing so would be inauthentic and fake.

You Get What You Are

If I want things to do well and pop off, then I must be in the trenches and leading from the front.  If I’m not putting in the work, things will most definitely fall short.  You get what you are, not what you want. 

That’s why I’m getting bricked out, not missing workouts, lunging every day, following Anabolic Fasting, and listening to personal development material every day.  I know exactly what I’m going to get in return for putting in this work.

And that’s what I want for you.  I want to help you experience these high-level results for yourself.  Together we’re going to get that success.  We're going to watch it grow because we're pushing from the front.


How to Go Next-Level

You know what’s easy?  Saying, “Oh, I’m just chilling on it this year.  I’m good.”  Fight that bullshit off.  Think to yourself, “How can I go next-level this year?” 

For me, it’s “How do I make my abs look so ridiculous that it makes people uncomfortable when they see me with my shirt off?  That guy is in his early 40’s?  How the fuck is he still able to do that?”  That’s the kind of shit I’m talking about. 

I’m not willing to throw the towel in, and neither should you.  Push your boundaries on a regular basis.  Be the leader.  If I want a bunch of people to sign up for the contest, then I need to make sure that my own house is in order first, right? 


I’m Showing You

I’ve been banged up off and on for the past couple years.  Through the injuries I’ve gained invaluable insight into training.  Insight that will give me the opportunity for me to make all-time numbers, break some records, and look better than ever before.  I believe it all.

I’m documenting the process in real time.  I’m already showcasing coming down from 215 pounds right now.  I’m down to 193, on my way to the mid-high 180’s.  I’m about to be totally bricked out.  That’s what happens when I’m consistent over longer periods of time.  And that’s what I want for you.


What Do You Want?

Do you want to change?

I want this thing to grow.  I want more people involved.  I want to help people make more positive changes in their lives.  I get what I want by showing you how it works.  I’m going to show you the amount of work that needs to be put in.

Change is difficult.  If you buy in, you’re signing up to force the body to change.  And guess what?  It’s still difficult – even for me – still to this day. 

The choice is yours.  Do you want to continue sitting on the sidelines, or do you want to get in the game?
