You Have the Control
You have the ultimate control and last say. Everything that's been written for you up to this point is not what you're destined to be.
You control it.
For me I knew that living in a trailer, seeing my mom struggle as a single parent, and having zero financial IQ wasn’t for me. I didn’t like my situation one bit. I wanted to change it. On the flipside, I’m happy that it was that difficult. Why? Because it forced me to make the changes I wanted for myself.
Stop thinking “Woe is me” or “This is just the hand I was dealt.”
You can always change. It’s never too late. Just because your parents taught you this or that, or you’re in a job that you hate, doesn’t mean that things are over for you. Don’t throw in the towel.
The choice is yours.
Change is the Most Difficult
Change is hard. It’s just a fact.
If you can just get started… if you can start implementing small changes in your life… you become a motherfuckin’ fire of momentum. Momentum is hard to start, but much easier to maintain once you’re up to speed.
People don’t know just how good they can feel. Once you get a taste of success, get a promotion, or see an ab outline, you can’t unsee it. It snowballs from there.
Harness Your Power
You got it. It’s there.
It’s important to understand that no one is going to put you on. No one was putting me on, saving me, or giving me handouts. You have to take care of your own shit.
Roadblocks are inevitable.
How will you respond?
Will you be resourceful and solution-based, or will you complain and whine?
Things get more complex and more difficult on the climb to success. Be solution-based. Keep throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks. It’s all a part of the process. You can’t beat the person that refuses to give up.
Set Your Own Rules & Standards
I can make my motherfucking own.
Let’s say you weight 250 pounds right now. I’ve heard it all. “I’m big-boned, I have a slow metabolism, etc.” But what if your goal was to get down to 200 pounds with abs? Stop making excuses and go seize it.
Don’t let someone tell you that you can’t do it.
Don’t give in to the idea that you were born a certain way.
Some people are just fine with the way their life is going, and that’s okay. But don’t be the person that’s constantly complaining and never attempting to make things better.
I wasn’t willing to settle. I wanted shit to be different. When I'm on my deathbed one day I'm going to know I gave it everything I fucking had.
If you're uncomfortable and unhappy with your situation and you've told yourself these excuses, then that’s on you.
I’m here to tell you to wake the fuck up. Wake up and take control of your life. If you do, you’ll be happy you did.
