One book I continuously revisit is called How to Raise Your Own Salary by Napoleon Hill.
Do People Want to Deal With You?
How are people going to deal with you if you have a frown on your face and a grouch in your heart?
Sounds funny because this book is from the early 1900’s. But it’s true. If you always have a shitty sour attitude, people aren’t going to want to be around you, period. Why would they?
Choosing the Bright Side
Just because you choose to have a positive outlook on life doesn’t mean that you don’t deal with the everyday realities. It just means that you’re choosing the bright side.
What’s the alternative? To succumb to a negative mindset? To always see the negative in a situation?
Not a fun way to live.
What’s it Going to Be?
How do you operate? Which side are you on? Do you even know?
If you’re unaware of where you stand, I suggest you take inventory. How often are you choosing the bright side? 30, 50, 90% of the time? Only then can you start cultivating the awareness you need to choose the bright side more often than not.
It Ain’t Easy
I’m not saying it’s easy. Not every day is Christmas. Some days are going to be more challenging than others. I’ve had some crazy shit happen in my life. I’ve been knocked down many times over.
But you always have the choice to put a smile on your face. You always have the choice to look at the glass half full.
Choose the bright side with everything you do. In your relationships, at work, or even at the grocery store. Doing so will help you live a much happier life.
