#257 Imagination is the Preview
Imagining & Seeing the Future
Visualize it before it happens.
Once you understand and harness what’s possible through visualization, it comes down to taking action.
I see it in my mind before it happens.
“To believe in the things you can see and touch is no belief at all, but to believe in the unseen is a triumph and a blessing.” – Abraham Lincoln
That’s why this quote is tattooed on my forearm. I can always see it in my mind first… the imagination is the preview.
There are Zero Guarantees
Are you guaranteed a timeline? Absolutely not. Are you guaranteed it's going to look just the way you want it to? No.
Seeing and feeling what it’s going to feel like to achieve what you want to achieve is where the real sauce is. Cultivating this skill allows you to see the preview of what’s to come.
Dreaming About What’s Possible
The power of visualization makes it easier to work for because you know how it’s going to look and feel when you get there.
Dream about what’s possible for you.
For example, when I was a young kid coming up, I had no money. But I was constantly daydreaming and visualizing how I wanted to operate in the future. That was a powerful motivating force that propelled me forward.
What about when I was striving to be on fitness magazine covers? For this I would visualize what it felt like to take the magazine with me on the cover off the news stand at Barnes & Noble, and then hand it to my grandfather.
What about my first Mercedes-Benz? Same story… I would visualize me driving that car off the lot. Same thing with my house. Same thing with Old School Gym.
