#1 Out of Sight, Out of Mind
Don't buy foods you aren't supposed to eat! If you don't want to be tempted, don't make this mistake. Avoiding temptation altogether eliminates even the possibility of making a mistake.
#2 You're an Experiment
Treat yourself like an experiment. Monitor and record the foods you eat. Take note of how you feel with certain foods. More energetic or less energetic? Groggy or alert? Tight or bloated?
Paying close attention to your own personal experiment will help you figure out what works best for you. Once you crack the code, you always will know it.
#3 Having Guidelines Around Alcohol
In order to live and maintain a healthy lifestyle, you must have a set of guidelines or rules for alcohol consumption. Look, I enjoy having a pint or two just like the next person, but it's wise to limit alcohol intake to weekends or special occasions.
Why? Because excessive drinking leads to poor decision-making such as overeating, hitting the late-night drive through, and a lack of motivation to exercise.
#4 Journal & Record
Take the time to journal your food intake so you can reflect on your weight and how you feel. This is important because you must know which way you're trending. Are trending the right way or the wrong way?
Taking this seriously will help you get to know your body better. This is a cheat code that most people just won't do.
