#137 Try Some Different Shit

Heavy bag for some punching and rotational work.  Turkish get-ups with the kettlebell to work on muscular imbalances and stability.  Jump rope to get the heart rate up and work up a sweat. 

I bought my heavy bag back when I was 15 years old… before I even had gloves.  You can still see the blood stains from back in the day.  I’m a bit unbalanced when it comes to my shoulders… especially with my rotator cuff injury.  Jumping rope goes way back to my traditional sweat workouts back in the day.  Sometimes you just have to throw in some different movements.

Sometimes you have to try some different shit.  What’s that mean? 


Have an Open Mind

My body has been so used to the same type of GPP work for a long time now.  Many of the same movements, compounded day after day.  So, when I went to my chiropractor today he said, “Cory, you don’t want to hear this, but you’re kind of banged up.  You’re still going to do your thing in the morning, I get it, but in the afternoon, do something different for 20 minutes.  Throw some spaghetti at the wall and see how you feel.”


Trying Different Things

Boxing, Turkish get-ups, jumping rope, etc.  The whole piece needs some work.  I’m willing to do whatever it takes to be healthy.  My point is, sometimes you have to throw some shit out the window to see what’s going to work best for you.
