It's that time of the year again. The time to build yourself a beautiful set of ripped up abz.
Do we want our abz to look fantastically nasty? Yes. Yes, we do.
Butttt we also want them to be strong.
A word of advice: don't be the guy/gal with weak abs. You can't have impeccable abz and have them be weak.
Onward to Coach Myers' superset!
3 ROUNDS
Barbell Rollouts: 10 reps w/ 1 second pause on each rep (or until your form starts breaking down)
Barbell Kayaks: 5 rotations each way
Barbell Weight Crunch: 20-25 reps
*1-2 minute rest between sets
TIPS 4 SWOLENESS
Barbell Rollouts
- Starting postion = same as the ab wheel (think scared cat)
- Shoulder-width grip
- Nose to the ground (if you can)
- Focus on using the serratus & lats to bring the bar back to the starting position
Barbell Kayaks
- Start in the sit-up position
- Shoulder-width grip
- Keep abz tight
Barbell Weight Crunch
- Lay down on your back
- Press the bar up and keep it locked out over your face
- Squeeze your abz at the top of each rep
