Being different, discovering confidence, and getting out of the trailer 📚 | ISLAND BOOK EXCERPT #1
Excerpt #1
Even at 15 years old I was aware that things were different for me. I always felt out of place and that I didn’t belong there in the trailer.
I felt and believed that I was meant to have dope stuff. I knew my swag was different. I knew my confidence was different, especially after I started lifting weights with my grandfather. Lifting weights and seeing that first delt cut helped me start to believe in myself.
I started realizing, "Well, I'm probably not going to play in the NBA, but this weightlifting thing has really helped build me up." I loved the way lifting weights made me feel because I knew I was making myself better.
